Saturday 10th July 2010- All day Workshop with Master Faye Li Yip
Monkton Wylde Court
Over 20 members of Charmouth Tai Chi were pleased to welcome visitors from other Tai Chi schools who joined us to enjoy the talents of Master Faye Li Yip (on the British Organising Committee for Chinese Health Qigong Association) and founder director and Chief Instructor for the Deyin TaijiQuan Institute (GB) who instructed us in the Yi Jin Jing and Ba Duan Jing. Faye's clear and good humoured instruction made the day a joy for all and even the complete novices in these sets were able to follow and learn. Faye ended the day with an impressive and inspring performance of the Fan Form. Monkton Wyld Court staff made us most welcome and we were able to enjoy a sumptuous vegetarian lunch which we soon shook down with our afternoons work. We and Faye look forward to another day or weekend together which will be arranged as soon as we can. Keep an eye on the website.

Tuesday 22nd June - A DAY WITH ANGUS CLARK
We enjoyed a hot sunny day starting in the Youth Club Hall and then taking to the beach for our tai ch/qigong practice, picnic lunches and followed by participation in "The Mountain Set" before returning to the Youth Club to finish our day. All who took part found the day immensely satisfying and energising with its emphasis on grounding and awareness of balance and integrating with the natural elements around us. Angus from his school of Living Movement, has a unique and laid back energy which is so enjoyable to work with and all who took part went away inspired with a new tai chi experience. We hope that we shall be working with Angus again.

Sunday 20th June - Summer Solstice 2010 Celebration
7.00 am on Charmouth East Beach. Could not have been a more pleasant morning, blue sky, calm sea and bright sunshine - about 20 students and othes gathered/participated in our celebrations. We finished by sharing breakfast snacks on the beach.
Saturday 20th March 2010 - Vernal Equinox Celebration - East Beach Charmouth - for the first time in about 20 of these celebrations we had to call it off! There was a gale blowing on the beach and very cold rain carried on the wind. Not a healthy environment for our practice. Some of us went back to Southwinds for a warming drink and to watch a DVD on the Ba Daun Jin and thence to Hensleigh Hotel for breakfast.
CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION
Sunday 14th February - welcome the Year of the Tiger. Lunch at Montein Thai Restaurant, 10 of us enjoyed a happy and festive few hours and an excellent lunch.
Health Qigong Workshop at Sherborne
Friday 26th Februar, 2.30 - 4,30 pm. Visiting senior Masters from China on their UK tour introducied the Qigong routine "Ba Duan Jin (Eight Treasures) with demonatrations of Yi Jin Jing and Wu Qin Xi (The Five Animal Frolics). 20 Charmouth Tai Chi students attended this event and found it interesting and enjoyable if hard work for some. This was definitely stimulating for all of us and the energy at sessions since is noticeably even greater.
Summer Solstice 2010 - Sunday 20th June . East beach Charmouth. 7.00 AM.
Report on 2009 - a perfect morning for Tai Chi on the beach!!!
Autumn Equinox 2010 - Wednesday 22nd September - 06.45 am.
Report on 2009 - Dark, cloudy skies when we arrived but the clouds gradually dispersed and by 07.30 we were moving in a low bright sunrise which grew and warmed us as we practised. A light SW breeze made it a beautiful experience - as always. It is good to see so many enthusiastic tai chi players getting up so early to take part and share the energy.
Winter Solstice 2010 -Tuesday 21st December
This is often the most inspiring of all the four sunrise celebrations as the sun rises out of the sea - see the photo on Pictures page. Usually about 8.00 am - well worth the effort!
Report on 2009 - quite the lowest temperature we have worked in with frost on the beach- however 16 brave people foresook their warm beds to come and take part. Well worth the effort though and followed by our warming ginger drinks then coffee and croissants back at Pam's.
